Until a few years ago, bed bugs had been unknown in the United States of America for generations, other than as a bit of humor from a bedtime nursery rhyme (… Don't let the bed bugs bite). Unfortunately, two factors have revived this miserable night time menace.
Several years ago, the bedbug scourge made a sudden reappearance in Virginia in the area of a meatpacking plant and surrounding area, harboring large numbers of illegal aliens. (Cheap labor is sometimes not so cheap as we shall see). In the past, these noxious pests or easily controlled with the safe effective insecticide DDT. Now however DDT is a thing of the past because of a harebrained government ban.DDT is extremely safe for human beings and if used properly in moderate amounts (not heaved from crop-dusting planes by the ton) is also safe for the environment.
Today, bed bugs are costing our economy hundreds of millions of dollars and have now gone wildly out of control because no effective insecticides are being used. Insane ideas such as wrapping houses in gigantic plastic bags and pumping in hot air to heat the house to 150° would be almost comical if, the cost to the homeowner were not such a financial disaster.
Hotel and resort owners have been financially devastated. Multimillion dollar lawsuits have ensued. The only beneficiaries of this government negligence of our health and our borders have been greedy lawyers and a bedbug industry using incredibly expensive and inefficient and ridiculous methods of control.
There is a simple, two-part solution to yet another incompetent government inflicted assault on our health and financial well-being?
1. Immediately end the ban on indoor use of DDT.
2. Institute strict border and immigration controls to prevent future Third World plagues of this type from damaging our economy and our health.
In the long term, forcing labor-intensive industries, especially those requiring backbreaking dangerous and unpleasant jobs to automate is the best answer. Instead of low-wage nasty labor, high skilled work designing and building robotic equipment to replace illegal aliens in meatpacking harvesting and similar industries would benefit all Americans.
The EPA has now inflicted another deadly threat. All effective chemical controls (DDT and others) for killing the deadly Brown Recluse Spider HAVE ALSO BEEN BANNED! See the following excerpt from Brown recluse spider – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Domestic variety as a pest
Due to the emphasized fear of these spiders ever since the increase of public awareness in recent years, extermination of domestic brown recluses is performed frequently in the lower Midwest. Brown recluse spiders possess a variety of adaptations, including the abilities to maintain homeostasis for several seasons with no food or water and to survive after losing limbs.[39] Additionally, the spiders survive significantly longer in a relatively cool, thermally stable environment.[40]
The increased abilities for the spiders to survive during times of starvation, thirst, and regulated room temperatures makes extermination of this species particularly challenging. Many chemicals which have proven effective have now been made illegal or restricted in the U.S., making the use of chemicals to eradicate the spiders impractical.[39] Chemicals that do not kill the spider will cause its nervous system to break down partially, inducing undesirable aggressive behavior (thus setting the stage for "revenge" via brown recluse bites).[41]
IT IS TIME TO GET INSANE EPA REGULATIONS OFF OUR BACKS AND OUT OF OUR LIVES. BROWN RECLUSE SPIDERS AND BEDBUGS MUST LOVE THE EPA. THEY ARE THE COMMON ENEMY Of ALL AMERICANS.
